I am a health professional, I have bipolar disorder, and my mission is to help end the stigma against mental illnesses of all kinds, in all age groups, and to motivate people with bipolar disorder to play an effective role in their own recovery plans.
That’s a major reason why I’ve written Mad Like Me: Travels in Bipolar Country: to humanize those of us with a mental illness, and to build understanding and empathy for us.
“Very well written, and Merryl’s compelling story is at once personal, enlightening, and inspiring.”
~Karen Armstrong, Librarian, Baie-D’Urfé library.
